Megaventory’s Four Dashboard Features
A while back, Megaventory announced its new user interface with four dashboard features, which is a step forward in addressing the needs of modern entrepreneurs. The four dashboard features – Purchase, Sell, Production, and Inventory – cover the major functions of a company, making it easier for users to access relevant information while hiding unnecessary details. Moreover, Megaventory allows multiple users with customizable access restrictions to specific parts of the application. This feature ensures that only authorized personnel have access to critical data and makes day-to-day business smoother, allowing employees to focus on the information relevant to their job function. Megaventory’s new user interface and dashboard features are innovative solutions that demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing its users with streamlined operations and improved data security.

Processing Orders
Processing a production order
Without accessing the Production Order, it is possible to process a Production Order from the list. Knowing the availability of the components and not needing to process the Production Order in sections or make modifications or comments is extremely helpful.
Here are also some important notes that you need to consider:
If you choose the Allocate Components option, the system will assign the number of raw materials needed to produce the total quantity of the ordered Finished Product. However, the Quick Actions module does not support partial allocation.
Furthermore, if you choose the Return Components option, the system will return all assigned quantities of components. However, the Quick Actions module does not support the return of incomplete components. Lastly, if you use the Receive Completed Products option, the system will receive the full amount of finished goods. However, the Quick Actions module does not support partial receipts.
Processing Production Orders in Bulk
Several Production Orders may be processed at once. This is particularly helpful when one Production Order must be finished before another can begin. You can utilize the batch update capability to update multiple production orders at once rather than issuing each one separately, allocating components, receiving them, closing the production order, repeating for the next production order down the line, and so on.
The system only creates Production Orders for items of the Made from Production Orders type that are out of stock. If a product is listed in a Bill of Materials as a Purchase from a Supplier or Made from a Production Order (in case of insufficient stock), a Production Order will be generated. Therefore, such products will be classified as Made from Production Orders. It is recommended to identify products individually as either Made from a Production Order or Purchased from a Supplier. Especially when using the batch processing feature. It is best not to classify products as Bought from Suppliers or Manufactured from Production Orders.
Shopify orders – Megaventory sales orders
When you place a Shopify Order and designate it as Pending, the system will automatically synchronize it with Megaventory. However, if you place a Megaventory sales order in Megaventory, no action will occur in Shopify. Several possibilities can occur in Shopify as a result of an updated Megaventory Sales Order.
If the Megaventory sales order fields are modified in Megaventory, nothing will happen in Shopify. However, if the Megaventory Sales Order status is changed to “Shipped”, a new fulfillment will be created in Shopify based on the shipped goods. On the other hand, if the Megaventory Sales Order state is changed to “Cancelled”, the Shopify Order will be canceled, and all associated Megaventory Sales Orders with this Shopify order will also be canceled. Finally, if the Megaventory Shipment state is changed to “Cancelled”, nothing will happen in Shopify.
When a Shopify Order updates in Shopify, Megaventory checks the status of the corresponding Sales Order. If the Sales Order is not “Pending”, Megaventory does not take any action. However, if the Sales Order is “Pending”, Megaventory updates it accordingly. Additionally, if items are removed from the Shopify Order, they are also removed from the corresponding Sales Order in Megaventory. Megaventory updates other data as well, including line pricing, line amounts, and document fields.
Controlling- Monitoring
With Megaventory you can have a total overview of all these processes – as well as some others to which no one else has access.
Why is it Important?
To ensure customer orders are completed on time, it’s essential to monitor order processing. This allows you to identify any difficulties in the fulfillment process and take necessary actions, such as adding workers or expanding production capacity, to fix them. Processing orders also helps you keep track of the items being shipped out, which in turn helps maintain accurate inventory levels, avoiding stockouts or overstocking that could lead to lost sales or excess inventory costs.
By monitoring order processing, you can make sure customers receive the correct products on time, improving their satisfaction and loyalty. Tracking how orders are processed can also help you keep track of revenue and costs associated with order fulfillment, enabling you to identify areas for cost reduction or profit increases.
List Views
The Megaventory dashboards comprise various List Views that essentially function as links to document or order lists filled out according to predetermined criteria. Also, Megaventory allows you to share the pre-filtered List Views to the dashboards of other users.
If you want to give access to a new user just click on the three-dots icon on the card. Then click Edit to edit the List View:
- When the creator of a List View chooses to share the List View with other users, it is pasted to the appropriate dashboard of every user in the account.
- Users can delete List Views that have been shared with them.
- Once deleted, a ListView cannot be undeleted.
- The creator can edit the List View at any point. These changes will apply to the copies of all users.
- Each user will see the filter results according to their permissions.
