Amazon X Megaventory: Integrate Amazon and Order Management With a Simple Zap

Do you sell a part of your products on Amazon? Are you having a hard time keeping track of your orders with everything else that is happening? That is what the Amazon – Megaventory Zapier connection is for: connect Amazon and the Megaventory order management to make your life easier and keep track of your orders when you branch out to sell on Amazon.

In 2021, the Amazon marketplace has 1.9 million active sellers using their services and benefitting from the broad reach Amazon provides. It definitely makes sense to test out the waters there. However, we don’t recommend doing so without having a solution for your orders to be managed even in your testing phase.

Zapier connects Megaventory with most other business apps out there, and this is the case also with Amazon. Check out our previous post about Zapier to learn more about the logistics behind it! Keep reading if you are curious as to why and how a Zap between Megaventory and Amazon could be the solution you are looking for!

Connect Amazon to Megaventory order management through Zapier.

Why Connect Amazon and Order Management

When a part of your sales goes through Amazon, your stock will obviously be affected. We all know selling items that don’t actually exist in the warehouse can cause huge issues. Ultimately, it can result in a negative customer experience. Because of this, you need a way of keeping track of your stock that needs to be shipped to clients in Amazon, even if most of your sales happen through your own eshop or your brick-and-mortar shop.

When you connect Megaventory to Amazon using Zapier, you can better track your incoming and outgoing orders. Any time an order is placed in Amazon, the product, client, and order can also be created in your Megaventory account. This will automatically adjust your stock levels to match reality in Megaventory.

This all happens through a “Zap” command that operates between your Amazon Seller Central and Megaventory. You don’t even need to know a single line of code to make it happen. You can then go ahead and adjust the quantities in Amazon if you want to show stock levels. No more selling things that you don’t have!

How Can Amazon and Megaventory Connect

To connect your Amazon Seller Central to your Megaventory order and inventory management account, you need to refer to these details. Essentially, you will be creating Zaps between triggers in Amazon and actions Megaventory. There are multiple ways to approach this depending on your particular use cases but here’s a way that could apply.

Initially, it is assumed that all products sold on Amazon are also available in Megaventory as SKUs. You can easily implement this by uploading one-off a spreadsheet of the products in Megaventory or Amazon. The point is to ensure that the same list of products exists in both apps.

Then, when an item is sold through Amazon to a specific customer, it will trigger a new client to be created in Megaventory as well.

When you add a new order in Amazon, a client is created in the Megaventory order management system.

Finally, the very same incoming Amazon Order will cause the sales order to be created in Megaventory as well.

When you add a new order in Amazon, a new sales order is inserted in the Megaventory order
management system.

That’s it really! Once these two Zaps have been created, they will stay in the background and run on their own every 1 to 15 minutes and there will be no need for manual intervention.

When to Connect Amazon and Megaventory Through Zapier

  • Amazon is only one of your selling outlets
  • If you don’t want to/need to show actual stock levels in Amazon
  • Only a small portion of your transactions go through Amazon. In this case you can upload stock changes via a spreadsheet.

When Not to Connect Amazon and Megaventory Through Zapier

  • You should know, that if Amazon is your only sales channel, then a Zap might not be the best approach. There are Amazon-specific tools that might work better if you only sell through Amazon.
  • When you have frequent orders coming in via Amazon.
  • When you need to show stock levels in real-time in Amazon.

Since Zapier cannot automatically update back Amazon for any stock changes made in Megaventory, use cases that require stock to synchronize automatically back to Amazon are not a good fit for the above approach. Contact us and we can see what we can do for you in that case.
