Latest Updates: Improved Custom Barcode Labels, Order Reports, WooCommerce, API

A new round of features was recently rolled out at Megaventory. We are eager to show you what they involve. We’ll talk about the recent improvements for Custom Barcode Labels, Sales and Purchase Order Reports, and some aspects of our integrations. All of them will either help you optimize order processing or access precise data regarding your operations.

Barcode Label Improvements

Make your own Template for Custom Barcode Labels

We added the Custom Barcode Label module that will help you create your own Template. Let us show you what you can do with it.

When you first open the menu for Printing Barcode Labels the barcode shows in a standard format, but you’ll be able to change that by accessing the drop-down list for Page Template. Look for the option to “+ add new custom dimension” and once you have selected that, you will be able to see the dimension in editable form.

Now it’s time to customize your labels however you wish. To give you an idea of what you can do, we created a Custom Template where we modified the padding on the left, the width, the font size, and the background color.

You can access this module in three ways, but your saved Custom Template will always be available to pick from the Page Template list. To find out more details about how you can customize and print your labels check the following article from our Knowledge Base:

With these Custom Barcode Labels, you can structure the label according to the specifications that you need for your products. They may differ in size so it’s inappropriate to print the same label for, let’s say, a piece of furniture and a small jewelry box.

On top of that, you may use a certain format of sticker paper that is not entirely compatible with the default layout. Hence, by customizing the layout of your labels you can optimize the space on your printing surface and be more efficient with your material.

You can also print different labels for different categories of products. This creates another way to tell them apart in your storage. The customizable background color could be very handy in this regard, making the distinction even more noticeable.

Check barcodes when receiving against a PO or shipping against a SO

We made the barcodes visible when you need to receive products against a Purchase Order or ship them against a Sales Order. This makes it easier for you to go through these processes and save time with identifying the products.

More options to customize Sales Order and Purchase Order Reports

New movable columns

You can now move the Created Date and Custom Dates columns in the row and column area, as shown below.

This way, you will be able to filter the data in your Sales or Purchase Order Reports more precisely. This will give you a clearer picture of your transactions, in order to make any analysis more accurate.

Exclude product quantities from Closed and Cancelled SO/PO

Another option we added is allowing users to exclude product quantities from Closed/Cancelled Sales or Purchase Orders. You are now able to uncheck the corresponding boxes, as shown in the picture below.

This gives you more flexibility in filtering out your data and removing information that you most likely you will not need to use in your reports.

New options for integrations

Payment methods are transferred from WooCommerce

Another feature we introduced is passing the payment method from your WooCommerce orders to the Sales Orders in Megaventory. This information will appear in the Other Tags field as the option you defined in the WooCommerce store.

This will make order processing in Megaventory more efficient. You won’t need to check the WooCommerce backend for this information. This is especially helpful for businesses that prioritize orders based on the payment methods – e.g. credit/debit card because it means that the order was paid in advance.

Updated product stock through the API

Also, from now on we are exposing the ProductStockUpdate to the API. This means that stock levels will be updated automatically for specific products in predetermined locations. With this, users will benefit from updates with less hassle before them on their own, custom-made platforms.
